How to set up your HavenGuard

Two minutes from box to on-guard. Here is the placement that gets results.

  1. Pull the protective film off the solar panel and press the power dial to your mode. Mode 2 is the cat band.

  2. Charge fully over USB-C before first use, or give it a day of direct sun.

  3. Find the entry route: the fence line, gap or path the animals actually use. That is where it goes.

  4. Push the stake into the soil so the sensor sits roughly 20–30 cm above the ground.

  5. On hard ground, skip the stake and hang the unit on a fence or wall using the built-in mounting holes.

  6. Aim the sensor at the approach path, not at the spot where they end up. You want it to fire before they settle in.

  7. Keep the 110° sensor cone clear of bushes, tall grass and moving branches to avoid false triggers.

  8. Place it in a spot that catches at least a few hours of direct sun for the solar panel.

  9. Using more than one unit? Overlap the cones so there is no silent corridor between them.

  10. Leave it alone. Deterrence builds over days as the animals learn: expect a clear drop within 1–2 weeks.

Three placement tips that matter

  • Aim at the route, not the crime scene

    Point the sensor where they enter the yard, so it fires before they reach the flower bed.

  • Height matters

    Sensor at 20–30 cm catches cats and raccoons. Mounted too high, small animals walk under the beam.

  • Give it sun

    A shaded unit runs down its batteries. Pick a sunny spot, or top up monthly over USB-C.
